What to know
The communication between a PC running Designer or UniDataExchanger software and an operator panel requires the panel itself to be switched in Configuration Mode status.
This document explains how to switch the operator panel to Configuration Mode status.
The Configuration Mode status can be recognized as in the left-upper corner of the screen the panel a string reporting the status is displayed. The string is similar to the one shown in the picture below.
What to do
Key operated panels
Standard procedure
- Keep pressed Enter key, after 3 seconds the operator panel shows the Command Menu.
- Use the Arrow keys to navigate in the menu, reach the CONFIG or CFG voice, then confirm with Enter key to switch to Configuration Mode.
Emergency procedure
- Power Off the panel.
- Press on 3 keys (any) simultaneously.
- Power On the panel while keeping pressed the keys and keep the pressure until the panel enters Configuration Mode
Touch screen operated panels
Standard procedure
- Keep pressed on an empty part of the screen, after 3 seconds the operator panel shows the Command Menu.
- Use the Arrow keys to navigate in the menu, reach the CONFIG or CFG voice, then confirm with Enter key to switch to Configuration Mode.
Emergency procedure
- Power Off the panel.
- Touch in the middle of the left side of the display screen with the left hand.
- Power on the operator panel and tap with the right hand in the middle of the right side of the display screen with a frequency of about 3-5 Hz while holding pressed in the middle of the left side of the display with the other hand.
- Continue to tap on the screen until the panel enters Configuration Mode.
Note: The standard procedure for both Key and Touch operated panels can vary depending on the settings of the application running in the operator panel.
